• In diesem Jahr wird zu Freddies Geburtstag eine Doppel-DVD mit dem Titel "Lover Of Life, Singer Of Songs", welcher gleichzeitig die Inschrift auf dem Sockel der Freddie Mercury Statue in Montreux ist, erscheinen.
  U.a. wird auf der Veröffentlichung eine extended Version der Untold Story und Ausschnitte einer Party von Freddie enthalten sein, sowie Kommentare der Produzenten DoRo.
  
  Diese Information stammt von Rudi Dolezal, der einen Hälfte der Torpedo Twins (DoRo).
  
• Der QFCG war mit einer größeren Gruppe am vergangenen Wochenende bei der Aufzeichnung von "Queen - Die Show" bei kabel eins anwesend und kann nur empfehlen die Sendung am 15.05. anzuschauen.

• Ab 05.12.2006 wird das "We Will Rock You"-Musical auch in Zürich in der Schweiz aufgeführt werden.

• Hier eine Mitteilung der Veranstalter des Freddie Mercury Memorial Days in Montreux:
  
  Dear Queen Fan Club members,
  
  Some of you already know about our annual event held in Montreux, Switzerland, where Freddie spent much of his time, particularly in his last few years. For the 4th consecutive year, we are organizing, this year with the help of Peter Freestone, a very special celebration for the hundreds of fans coming from all over the world.
  
  2006 is a very special year. If he was still with us, Freddie would be celebrating his 60th birthday in September. This year is also the 10th anniversary of the unveiling of the magnificent statue of Freddie over-looking Lake Geneva, in Montreux.
  
  In order to celebrate these two great events, we have built up a very attractive program, details of which will be released in a few weeks. One part of the program is a special song contest, as a support to the evening concert. We are asking Freddie sounding singers from different countries to come to Montreux and
  
  sing on stage a song written by Freddie Mercury – but in the national language of the singer!
  
  This means a Japanese singer would sing in Japanese, a Russian one in Russian, and so on.
  
  The singer ideally should be supported by a delegation of the fan club from their country. Travel and accommodation fees would be at the singer’s and accompanying person’s expense, but we would be able to give you information to suitable hotels etc. We would provide a karaoke – like backing tracks for the chosen material. This event would take place in the Petit Palais, at the Montreux Palace Hotel, the exact venue where QUEEN performed for the Montreux Golden Rose in 1984 and 1986.
  
  Are you interested in taking part? Only 5 singers will be selected, therefore we kindly ask you to send us:
  1. the selection of song(s) you propose – only Freddie Mercury compositions please
  2. a photo of the singer and a recording of your selection in your mother tongue.
  
  You will then get a reply from us and if you are one of the lucky people, you will get a free badge for the whole of the Freddie Mercury’s Montreux Memorial Day 2006 event. We are sorry we will not be able to return any of the material sent to us.
  
  We do want to stress that this is NOT a competition. There will be no pressure to be the best.

• Die Radiosendung des Schülerradios 1476, in der über die "We Will Rock You"-Aufführung des BORG Kindberg berichtet wird, steht nun als mp3-Datei unter www.schuelerradio1476.at/archiv/prog-maerz-2006.html zur Verfügung.
  
• In der kostenlosen Zeitschrift "WOM Magazin" (April 06) (erhätlich bei Karstadt und WOM) gibt es auf Seite 12 einen kurzen Artikel über die Songs "We Are The Champions" und "We Will Rock You".
  Desweiteren findet sich auf Seite 33 eine Werbung zur "Making Of A Night At The Opera" DVD.
